Medical News As you know I have had a partially collapsed lung for about a year and a half. I had a series of tests on this and doctors have come to the conclusion that the lung is perfectly healthy. The reason for the collapse has been diagnosed as a paralysed diaphragm on the left side. An MRI of the neck was ordered to determine if the phrenic nerve was being compressed or obstructed (this nerve sends messages to the diaphragm). It was discovered that while their is degeneration in the neck from arthritis, there is no visible obstruction. This means that there is no known cause for the paralysis of the diaphragm and nothing further that can be done. I have now committed this to the Lord and pray that if it is not His purpose to heal it, that He would teach me how to slow down. It does not cause any particular pain but I am more limited in how much physical work I take on. Thanks for your prayers and concern about this. |
