DEAR FRIENDS
If there is one area of the ministry of Light To My Path Book Distribution where the Lord has been stretching me, it is the ministry of translation. This has not been something I have actively pursued, but over the years the Lord has brought a number of translators to me who have a commitment to making the teaching of God's Word available in their own language.
Currently, I am working with five regular translators. I do not have time to share with you how the Lord brought us all into contact but it is a story of God's wonderful sovereignty. Through various circumstances, leading and timing the Lord has put this team together. It is clearly His doing.
Let me introduce you to these five team mates who represent Light To My Path Book Distribution in their various countries.
Biju is from Noida, India and was one of my first translators. I had the privilege of meeting him in India a number of years ago. He travels extensively throughout the country as an evangelist and facilitator. He is the founder of Road Runner World Missions and Harvest Mission Ministries with its associated Harvest Mission Schools and Harvest Mission Publications. He coordinates the translation and distribution of the Hindi books throughout India. Our most recent project is a two volume commentary on the book of Psalms. We expect this to be completed in the coming weeks.
Danilo lives in Holguin, Cuba where he coordinates the teaching ministry of First Baptist Church. He is a teacher by profession and has taught counseling courses for a local Bible school. On two of my trips to Cuba, he translated for me as I preached the Word of God. He is translating my books into Spanish. In July he completed volume 1 of the three volume commentary on Matthew, Mark and Luke. He is now working on the second volume.
Emmanuel lives in Lahore Pakistan where he ministers as an evangelist, translator and facilitator. He has a burden to bring the teaching of the Word of God to Urdu speaking believers. Emmanuel has translated and distributed a number of books throughout Pakistan. This has been a source of tremendous blessing for pastors and other spiritual leaders in the country. He now represents the ministry of Light To My Path Book Distribution in his country. He has recently completed the first volume of Matthew, Mark and Luke. We are waiting on the Lord now for the resources to translate and print the second volume of this three volume series.
Peter is from Mwanza, Tanzania and serves as a regional coordinator for the Baptist church in the Lake Zone. This ministry brings him into direct contact with a number of Bible Schools and pastors in the country. Peter has had such a burden to translate and distribute our books that we now have four books waiting to be printed in the Swahili language. In July I sent him the funds to print and distribute his Swahili translation of "Someone Else's Faith".
Henry, lives in Yangon, Myanmar and serves as a professor at the Berean Evangelical School of Theology. He also works as a church planter, translator and facilitator. He represents the ministry of Light To My Path Book Distribution in Myanmar and coordinates the translation and distribution of the books in Burmese. He is currently overseeing the printing of the Burmese translation of "Known By Our Fruit" a study on the fruit of the Spirit.
Each of these men loves the Lord and has a desire to see His Word impact their country for the glory of His name. They work hard on the translation of these books and have a burden to see them get into the hands of those who need them. I could not do this ministry without them. As I said, I did not seek these men myself, God brought them to me in a special way. They are His choice and He has called them to this ministry.
As you think and pray about the ministry of Light To My Path Book Distribution, pray for these translators and their various ministries. Ask the Lord to bless them and enable them in the work of translating Bible study material so people can be blessed by reading material in their own tongue.
